The JSB-503 is a USB module designed to count the number of events on a input line. A 32 bit counter keeps track of the number of events (pulses) that has occurred.
Software options include selection of rising or falling edge of pulse, or external counter reset (counter can also be reset by software). Input signal is qualified
by a 40milli-second hardware debounce filter. Signal will not be consided valid until it is stable for 40millisec. The inputs accept bouncing inputs from a mechanical
switch and produce a clean digital output after a short, preset qualification delay. Both the switch opening bounce and the switch closing bounce are removed. The real
time count is monitored and three (3) output lines are the results of the comparsion to a user programmable value, showing whether the count is equal to, greater then,
or less then the value. Connections is made via the Molex KK series header or screw type terminal blocks. Any programming language that supports calls to Windows DLL can also be used to control the module. The software interface is easy to use from Visual Basic,
Visual C# Visual C++ via a standard windows DLL with sample source included. Each module has an unique serial number string which allows multiple USB boards to be controlled by
the host USB controller as individual USB devices. Click on blue tabs above to view other information about the module.

The module utilizes a custom function driver optimized for a maximum device functions and data throughput. Windows driver provided supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows7 for both 32bit and 64bit systems. The user API interface to the driver is via standard window DLL's both as a managed class library and older standard DLL. The CD contains sample programs and source code in Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual C# for Windows. Third party support includes a Windows standard DLL interface usable from the most popular application programs and includes LabVIEW, MS Office, and MathLab. | USB Connector |
| The industrial/military marketplace has driven the need for USB connections to be reliable, dependable, and unfailing. Used in all of our USB products is a type B USB connector which features a high retention design. This connector complies with the class 1, Div II minimum withdrawal requirement of over 3 pounds of force (15 Newtons). The connectors orange color-coded insulator differentiates it from standard USB connectors. |
| KK Connector Header |
| On modules that have the KK header option, a Molex KK series of header is on the board. This allows a two piece type of connection to the users equipment. The Molex KK concept utilizes a double cantilever contact design in mating with PC board pins. The proven double cantilever design provides a high uniform contact pressure for a reliable connector interface. The high pressure creates many contact points at a microscopic level, thereby providing a lower contact resistance. The wiping action of the double cantilever design tends to clean oxides and film when the connector is mated. |
